Summer is but a distant memory as we are now into October and Autumn is most definitely here.
Here is a list of some of the events happening this month:
Pontypool & Blaenavon’s Heritage Railway
Ghost Trains – 28th, 29th, 30th & 31st October
Trains will be running between the Spooky Furnace Sidings Station and Whistle Halt at regular intervals from 4pm through to 9pm.
All visitors are encouraged to dress up in their spooky clothes (but not essential).
Be prepared to be scared!

Blaenavon Ironworks
Weird & Wonderful Wales – 27 Oct 2017 7:00pm-9:00pm

Join Super Furry Animals illustrator Pete Fowler, poet Jonathan Edwards and other special guests for an evening of local legends with storyteller David Ambrose and a music set. Wood fired pizzas and craft drinks on sale all night.

Haunted History and Folklore Evening Tour – 29th October 7:00pm – 9:00pm
An adult only evening tour of Blaenavon Ironworks, with ghost stories, spooky tales, historic folklore and ancient legends of Blaenavon and Blaenau Gwent.
Hear tales of Welsh myths and the legends of the Black Mountains, Blaenavon and Clydach area, the history of Halloween and local ghost stories of the Ironworks. Followed by hot drink refreshment and a mince pie.

Big Pit National Mining Museum
Tales and limericks with Blandalf the Baard – 30th October 12:00pm – 4pm
Meet Blandalf the Baard, the teller of tales, who lives in the valleys of lovely South Wales. Hear about Dai Morris the miner and other Blaenavon tales wrapped up in legends. Try your hand at writing ridiculous rhymes and silly sonnets!
