Visitor Attractions Closed Again – COVID-19

Unfortunately, Torfaen has been forced to close its borders due to an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.

As of 6:00pm tonight people should not travel in, or out, of Torfaen without a valid reason, for example work, education, medical reasons or to buy food.

This follows on from closures by other bordering County Boroughs – Blaenau Gwent, Merthyr, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Newport – to name but a few. Half the inhabitants of Wales are now in lockdown areas with south Wales being hardest hit due to the greater population density.

All the visitor attractions have again temporarily closed their doors and the Heritage Railway has cancelled their annual Halloween ghost trains – a sad and hard decision as these special trains are very, very popular.

So if you intend to come to Blaenavon in the near future please abide by the Local Government restrictions and only travel here for the reasons outlined above. Check the websites of all the attractions before visiting.
