Coronavirus Procedures – read before booking

We are hoping to re-open one room at a time from 12 April 2021. We are looking forward to welcoming guests back into our home again.

We are following guidance from the Welsh Government and other recognised bodies in order to make the necessary changes to our business with respect to COVID-19 restrictions. This will enable us to operate in a way that will protect both you – our valued guest, ourselves and members of the community in which we live. We will, of course, update these changes as the guidance changes.

Before you arrive at Oakfield B&B

To keep you, all our other guests and ourselves safe we please ask that if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 you call us to postpone your stay. Symptoms may include but are not restricted to:

• A high temperature

• A new and persistent cough

• Changes in your ability to taste and smell

If you have been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19 in the 14 days before your stay or have been contacted by a track and trace agent and asked to self-isolate please contact us and postpone your stay.

We may contact you the day before you are due to arrive to confirm your arrival time, check that you have not had any symptoms or been in contact with anyone else with symptoms in the 14 days prior to your stay with us.

We will email any information you require to make your stay more enjoyable, including website links to local attractions for opening times and their COVID-19 procedures.

Arrival and check in

Check in is between 16:00 – 21:00. We will ask you for an estimated time of arrival.

On arrival, we will give you a set of sanitised keys and talk you through which key operates which door and then direct you to your room. You can come and go as you please once checked in. Hand sanitiser is available in the reception area and we ask that you use this each time you return to the house.

During your stay

If you have any questions or need items replenished or assistance during your stay please don’t hesitate to ask a member of our staff.

We have temporarily removed all welcome books and leaflets.

Social distancing guidelines in Wales are currently set at 2 metres with masks to be worn in communal areas- we would ask that you show consideration and respect the space to allow other guests to feel safe in our space.

The guesthouse will be regularly sanitised throughout the day, however we would still ask that you remember to use the hand sanitiser each time you return to the house and of course practice good hand washing – as you would do normally.

If you should become ill during your stay, you will be required to self-isolate and travel home as per Government advice.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

At the moment we have decided to remove all decorative cushions, books etc – please request extra pillows if you need them. To avoid cross-contamination we will not be servicing your room during your stay. If you require anything, please ask and we’ll be happy to replenish any items for you.

There will be a waste bin located in your room. We would ask that, to prevent a build-up of waste during your stay, you place tied up bin bags from in your room onto the landing for removal on a daily basis, or when required.

Cleanliness is a very important part of what we do at Oakfield B&B – please be assured that all rooms and en-suites will be cleaned and sanitised before you arrive. This includes clean freshly laundered mattress and pillow protectors for each stay. Our bed linen and towels are laundered and pressed at high temperatures.

We use a non-toxic and non-allergic sanitising spray that meets all current guidelines to eradicate Covid-19. Rooms are sprayed with this after cleaning and sanitising has taken place.

All hard surfaces that guests come into contact within the public areas of the house such as door handles, stair rails and banisters etc are thoroughly sanitised and cleaned during the day.

Please be assured that we ourselves are also washing our hands frequently and wearing appropriate PPE while cleaning rooms.

Breakfast will currently be served in your room.  On arrival we will ask you what you would like for breakfast during your stay.  We need to be notified of any changes by 7pm the evening before. At this time the breakfast choice will be limited to bacon, sausage or vegetarian sausage in a sub roll or croissants with jam and will be accompanied with tea or coffee and orange juice. Your breakfast will be brought to your door at a previously agreed time. We will knock and step back from the door. All used dishes must be placed outside your room with the tray for collection during the day.

Check out

Check out is strictly by 10:00am this is to enable us the maximum time in which to prepare the room after your departure. Please place your keys at reception when you check out so that we can sanitise them straight away.

Once you have left

If you develop any symptoms of Covid-19 or test positive within 7 days of your stay you MUST inform us straightaway.

Also inform us straight away if you are notified that you have been identified as having been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 immediately before or during your stay Oakfield B&B

We are sure that you can appreciate that there have been many changes to the way we look after you and that they are beyond our control.

Hopefully, we will try our best to overcome these current difficulties and allow you to enjoy your well-deserved break.

Thank you for your understanding & patience …
