Tumble Climb In Velothon Wales 2016 Again

Velothon on the Blorenge Mountain road sign, the Tumble‘Tumble’ into Velothon Wales 2016

One of the most unique features of Velothon Wales is the mass start in the heart of Cardiff city centre. Competitors will be able to cycle on completely traffic free roads along the entire 140km route. Starting in Cardiff, passing an abundance of striking architecture and iconic landmarks before rolling out into the Welsh countryside and on through Newport and the Borough Counties of Monmouthshire, Caerphilly and our home Torfaen.

The route climbs the famous ‘Tumble’ from Abergavenny to Blaenavon – the highest climb on the course and only a mile, or so, from Oakfield B&B.

Up to 18,000 riders are expected to take part with the majority fundraising for good causes. The closed road sportive event will run alongside a UCI sanctioned professional race. There will be a King and Queen of the mountain challenge too.
