May 26th 10:00am – 1:00pm
Start your Bank Holiday off with a volunteer led guided walk of about 5 km (3 miles). The walk passes Rifle Green Car Park (alternative start point: SO262095), takes us up to the prominent chimney of Hill Pits, before returning via Garn Lakes reedbeds – an example of successful land reclamation in progress.
The walk takes you through the landscapes of the World Heritage Site. You will see the scars left by man on their surroundings.
This walk will start from the Blaenavon World Heritage Centre at 10.00 a.m.
Suitable for older children, but not recommended for people with limited mobility as it goes over paths which may be muddy.
Please wear appropriate footwear and be prepared in case of wet weather.
A leaflet about this route can be obtained from the World Heritage Centre.
