Teddy Bears Picnic

This Bank Holiday Big Ted will be there to greet everyone so bring your teddy bear with you to say ‘hello!’.
Each child will receive a small packed lunch to share with their teddy on the journey.

The first train leaves Furnace Sidings at 11:00am and the last train arrives at 5:15pm. The trains will be stopping at the Whistle Halt, Furnace Sidings, Big Pit and High Level Station.Refreshments can be purchased on board.
Buy a day rover and stay on board all day. (Single tickets are available)

Alternatively, spend some time on the platform admiring the trains or having some food in the tea room. Eric’s Emporium will also be open so why not buy a memento of your visit.

A chance for younger visitors to meet Mother Christmas and find out what’s been happening in the Christmas household.

Father Christmas Coming Up From Underground!

Be amazed as Father Christmas arrives at Pit Top at 10.30am, travelling 300ft UP from underground on his way to Lapland.

Once he’s arrived (and found his elves!) there’ll be an opportunity to visit him in his cottage, from 11am-1pm and 1.30pm-4pm, and tell him what’s on your Christmas list.

Are you in his naughty or good book?

Music will also be provided by Blaenavon Town Band.
