Coronavirus procedures at Oakfield B&B

Please read before booking.

Update: 30/03/2022

We are now open and are welcoming guests back into our home again.
Whilst, on the face of it, the review for relaxing COVID Regulations from 28th March looks positive not a lot will change.
All businesses are required to risk assess their own premises and have “reasonable measures” in place to keep staff and customers safe.

From Oakfield B&B’s point of view:

  • Masks are no longer mandatory but we respect that some guests, and staff, may wish to continue wearing them.
  • Hand sanitiser will be provided on the front desk for guests to use when entering/leaving the premises.
  • Enhanced cleaning regimes will continue, especially between changeovers.
  • Oakfield B&B will regularly review and adjust the “reasonable measures” to suit the needs of the staff and customers.

We are following guidance from the Welsh Government and other recognised bodies in order to make the necessary changes to our business with respect to COVID-19 restrictions. This will enable us to operate in a way that will protect both you – our valued guest, ourselves and members of the community in which we live. We will, of course, update these changes as the guidance changes.

Before you arrive at Oakfield B&B

To keep you, all our other guests and ourselves safe we please ask that if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 you call us to postpone your stay. Symptoms may include but are not restricted to:

• A high temperature

• A new and persistent cough

• Changes in your ability to taste and smell

For the benefit of other guests and staff, If you have been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19 in the 7 days before your stay, or have been contacted by a track and trace agent and asked to self-isolate, please contact us and postpone your stay.

Arrival and check in

Check in is between 16:00 – 21:00. We will ask you for an estimated time of arrival..

On arrival, we will give you a set of sanitised keys and talk you through which key operates which door and then direct you to your room. You can come and go as you please once checked in. Hand sanitiser is available in the reception area and we ask that you use this each time you return to the house.

During your stay

If you have any questions or need items replenished or assistance during your stay please don’t hesitate to ask a member of our staff.

Even though social distancing guidelines are no longer in place, and masks no longer need to be worn, we would ask that you show consideration and respect the space to allow other guests to feel safe in our home.

The guesthouse will be sanitised throughout the day, however we would still ask that you remember to use the hand sanitiser each time you return to the house and of course practice good hand washing – as you would do normally.

If you should become ill during your stay, you will be required to travel home immediately as per Government advice.

Cleaning

Cleanliness is a very important part of what we do at Oakfield B&B – please be assured that all rooms and en-suites will be cleaned and sanitised before you arrive. This includes clean freshly laundered mattress and pillow protectors for each stay. Our bed linen and towels are laundered and pressed at high temperatures.

We use a non-toxic and non-allergic sanitising spray that meets all current guidelines to eradicate Covid-19.

All hard surfaces that guests come into contact within the public areas of the house such as door handles, stair rails and banisters etc are thoroughly sanitised and cleaned during the day.

Please be assured that we ourselves are also washing our hands frequently and wearing appropriate PPE while cleaning rooms.

Breakfast

On arrival we will ask you what you would like for breakfast and your preferred time (between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m.).  We need to be notified of any changes by 7pm the evening before.

Check out

Check out is strictly by 10:00am this is to enable us the maximum time in which to prepare the room after your departure. Please place your keys at reception when you check out so that we can sanitise them straight away.

Once you have left

If you develop any symptoms of Covid-19 or test positive within 7 days of your stay you MUST inform us straightaway.

Also inform us straight away if you are notified that you have been identified as having been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 immediately before or during your stay Oakfield B&B

We are sure that you can appreciate that there have been many changes to the way we look after you and that they are beyond our control.

Hopefully, we will try our best to overcome these current difficulties and allow you to enjoy your well-deserved break.
